About Our Client

This business processes hundreds of millions of pounds via several payment providers, in small denominations and passes them to any of 13,000 charities. These volumes are growing and the ecosystem through which these funds pass is getting increasingly complex as the company expands its products and services. This is a new role which assumes the lead of the Charity Assurance team with a view to maintaining and improving critical controls and clarity in this complex area.

Job Description

Responsibilities

This role assumes overall ownership of the charity balance sheet and is required to provide a very high level of assurance that all funds are administered appropriately with the use of best in class controls

Tasks

Review, interrogation and audit of the accounts in the charity balance sheet

Creation & implementation of logic tests to validate current account balances

Review of existing and potentially redesign of double entry as and when new products or other improvements change the processing requirements

Design tests/proof in totals to validate the output of financial processing activities

Working with inbound and outbound payment providers to ensure controls

Working with fraud team and solution providers to prevent losses

Management of a charity accountant and an accounts assistant

The Successful Applicant

We're looking for a graduate (with a 2:1 degree or above), who has 2 years plus post qualification experience in either ACA or ACCA. You must be able to demonstrate a very strong controls background so qualification in practice with systems audit experience will be very advantageous. You will have a good depth of technical understanding and will be familiar with digging into systems which hold vast quantities of data to prove values. Your attention to detail must border on the fanatical and you must have a fundamental mistrust of the system, meaning you will never assume something works without the appropriate evidence.

You're self-driven, with an ability to dig deep into specific areas without losing sight of the bigger picture. You use analytical thinking to generate insightful conclusions, and have a determination to resolve issues as they arise.

What's on Offer

This role will offer a basic salary between £60,000 - £70,000 + benefits
