Job Description

Reporting to the Directors, the Financial Controller will be based in South West London and will be heavily involved in both the accounting and operational functions.

The selected individual will be part of the Senior Management Team and will initially be responsible for setting up new processes and establishing the finance function.

The Role:

Financials

  • Provide Leadership to the Finance & Non Finance staff
  • Manage the Company's Financial Accounting and Reporting Systems
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts internally and to parent company
  • Producing Financial reports to specific deadlines
  • Budgets and Forecasts (central and project accounting)
  • Lead meetings with non-finance staff to discuss projections and performance
  • Stock Accounting & Control
  • Cash Management

Planning & Process

  • Develop the company's Financial Management tools to improve performance
  • Support Directors with strategic and long-term business plans
  • Perform constant reviews of process & procedures
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for revenue growth and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Analysing trends in revenues and expenses
  • Analysing competitors and market trends

Statutory

  • PAYE & VAT returns
  • Coordination with external auditors
  • Preparation of draft statutory accounts
  • Preparation of Monthly Payroll (20 people)
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation

The Successful Applicant

The selected Financial Controller for this role will already be working in a similar position with management responsibilities and a strong technical background. Ideally the candidate for this role, based in South West London, will also have a good level of commercial and operational experience.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Essential:

  • Five years of experience in a similar position
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational & interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Advantageous:

  • Experience with Sage Accounting
  • Events Experience
  • Experience reconciling stock and cash
  • Dashboards & data visualisation
