This role will predominately be situated out of their London offices, based in Fulham.

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be a key player in the international growth of the organisation, with a specific focus on the financial management of the newly formed subsidiaries of the group in Portugal and the USA.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • With the help of advisors and in collaboration with local teams, set-up and lead finance operations of Sundrop subsidiaries in USA and Portugal - accounting, budgeting, tax affairs, statutory compliance and treasury;
  • Deploy and manage Sundrop ERP and related systems in USA and Portugal;
  • Analyse financial performance of US and Portuguese subsidiaries against key business metrics; monitor on-going project development and CAPEX expenditure; identify and analyse potential operational improvements and, where relevant, suggest operational improvements (policy, procedures, processes, etc.);
  • Prepare financial KPI reporting and monthly reports;
  • More broadly, in collaboration with CFO and other members of financial team,
    • assist in the set-up of the finance organisation of the company by developing relevant financial processes (month-end closing, budgeting, treasury management, etc.);
    • prepare financial statements of non-Australian subsidiaries of the Group, participate in the preparation of consolidated group accounts and in the audit process.

The Successful Applicant

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Excellent academic records with a degree from a top university, preferably in business / finance / engineering;
  • 5 - 10 years of financial management experience gained in a relevant corporate function or with a Big 4 firm;
  • ACA Qualified or equivalent; minimum 3-5 years post qualification experience
  • Broad knowledge of finance and accounting and, in particular, IFRS standards;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities with ability to work in multi-currency environment;
  • Strong financial modelling skills in Excel;
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-tasks;
  • Strong interpersonal skills / the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment with other team members, senior management, external advisors, clients, partners, and others;
  • Compelling written and oral communication skills.
