My client are a Global Insurance Firm based in the City of London. They are a brilliant team to work for and have an excellent calibre of person throughout the finance team. The Financial Reporting Accountant will need to be at a similar level to succeed.

Job Description

The Financial Reporting Accountant will have the following Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including various reconciliations and analysis to budget
  2. Prepare the cash flow for the head office and divisional entities
  3. Process journals as required
  4. Maintenance and updating of accounting policies and procedure documentation as required
  5. Ensure compliance with financial control framework
  6. Assist with the migration of the local nominal ledger system to the new SUN Accounting system
  7. Assist in the standardisation of month end reporting and hard close processes
  8. Assist with the production of the Group management and statutory accounts, including analysis of intercompany balances and investments within the Group
  9. Assist the Financial Planning & Analysis team with the head office budgeting/forecasting if required
  10. Ad hoc projects as required

Key Accountabilities (What you are measured on)

  1. Timely and accurate production of accounts and cash flow.
  2. Timely and accurate delivery of management and statutory information
  3. Ability to work efficiently and effectively with colleagues in the Group Finance Team to improve and deliver all aspects of the annual financial cycle

The Successful Applicant

The Financial Reporting Accountant will need the following Key Competencies (Skills and abilities needed to perform role)

Key Competencies (Knowledge and Experience)

Proficient at MS Excel

  1. Experience with nominal ledger systems
  2. Understanding of the basic accounting principles, particularly consolidation ideal but not required
