This Group function combines transactional and expert services including Human Resources, IT, Procurement, Accounting & Finance along with numerous Centres of Expertise including Communications, Internal Audit, Compliance and Tax across Europe.

Job Description

This is a challenging and critical role ensuring the business meets all Statutory reporting requirements. The role therefore carries a high profile across the wider Finance team and other functions (e.g. Risk, Internal Audit & Regulation). Key responsibilities will be to critically evaluate planned and project spend to ensure correct accounting classification is maintained and aligned to the company's Accounting guidelines. You will also be responsible for producing financial reports for circulation to management and assist in the delivery of UK Operations Financial reporting commitments to the Parent company accounting team and ensure that all risks within the ICS (Internal Controls System) are adequately controlled for both financial and fixed asset risk.

The Successful Applicant

Skills and experience:

  • A qualified accountant (at least 4 years' experience) with a financial accounting background preferably gained in a Group role. A strong academic background is required with a good University degree.

  • Highly developed prioritization and delegation skills to enable various tasks to be completed accurately, on time and to a high standard.

  • Strong end to end process management skills with strength of character to enforce disciplines whilst maintaining a flexible and adaptable overall approach.

  • Calm and confident with the ability to work under pressure and deal with issues authoritatively and rationally.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with a confident and articulate manner.

  • Disciplined, detailed approach with attention to detail and an eye on quality of output.

  • A strong working knowledge of financial accounting standards and their practical application (IAS & UK GAAP) and the self-drive and motivation to develop knowledge further.

Genuine enthusiasm and interest in working in a group finance department.
