About Our Client

A Large FMCG business in the Bristol Region are looking for General Manager.

Job Description

* To be responsible for the strategic development and the delivery of service and operational excellence for your customer base, exceed expectations to support growth and on-going relationships
* With a continuous improvement philosophy, seek opportunities to grow our service offering with existing & new customers within the Logistics, distribution and supply chain.
* Develop and enhance customer relationships at a senior level by demonstrating ability to add value to their business
* Identify and pursue operational development possibilities
* To continually review, evaluate and develop the effectiveness of the contract's performance
* To establish and continue the development of strong two-way relationships with the customer
* Ensure the proper governance of the operations, partners and suppliers to the account, ensuring that they are managed fairly and that they understand and share our passion in doing the right thing for our customer
* To have responsibility for both the operational and commercial functions of the account(s)
* Responsible for the P&L for own unit, including cash flow management and concise budgetary control
* Ensure that processes exist through which relationships with recognised Trade Union and/or employee representatives are managed to ensure that annual negotiations are achieved within budget levels and that day to day working relationship remains positive and harmonious
* Responsible for the management, motivation and development of the site teams, ensuring and maintaining open communication on a day to day basis

The Successful Applicant

* Ensure that processes and controls exist to ensure sites & management teams are compliant with statutory and company policies on Health & Safety, Employment and Environmental issues including regular monitoring to ensure that a high profile of all of these key areas is maintained
* Ensure that processes and controls exist and are followed to ensure that employee resources are appropriate for business needs, including tackling performance issues, identification of training needs, and succession planning
* Champion and clearly communicate new central initiatives to the team
* To communicate to the next level of management (Board), any contract concerns/issues with the appropriate contingency plans.
* To assist sites in developing relevant & up to date business continuity plans
* To ensure the completion of management reports, accounts, budgets, forecasts etc
* Responsible for providing leadership to the operational and account management team, delivering excellent site operations and customer management
* Deliver excellent organisational capability through great people. Attract, retain and develop people and ensure concise succession plans are maintained
* Promote networking and effective communication between Managers
