About Our Client

My client is a leading Facilities Services Provider that provides cleaning and other soft services to customers in the Healthcare, Education, and Defence sectors. They employ over 8,000 people in the UK alone and have recently won a number of new contracts with the NHS.

Job Description

As a General Manager you will be expected to manage and develop all Soft FM Services across a 600 bed Hospital, ensuring that financial parameters, operating procedures and legislative requirements are met and performance targets are exceeded.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Be committed to managing and providing direction, guidance and support for over 500 staff and ensuring they are able to carry out their roles efficiently and effectively
  • To manage and evaluate objectives and targets for the Contract and produce a Business Plan to ensure all current requirements are met and the business developed.
  • Manage a P&L of £8 million and ensure that opportunities are identified to make a profit on the contract
  • Ensure Health & Safety, Quality and Compliance procedures are kept up to date and staff are appropriately trained
  • Attend all necessary meetings as required for services under your control

The Successful Applicant

You must be a proven General Manager with previous experience of working in a busy Healthcare environment and managing budgets of more than £5 million. You must be able to effectively manage and motivate teams to perform operationally whilst ensuring all Health & Safety compliance is adhered to. You must have experience of managing large and complex contracts across a number of soft services including Cleaning, Catering, Portering and Retail. You need to be a strong and effective communicator and leader, who thrives in a busy environment and who has strong commercial acumen.
