About Our Client

Made up of some of the busiest full service casual dining restaurants in the Sydney market, my client is a relatively new and exciting player. Focused on creating a personalised service to their guests every day, they strive for outstanding guest satisfaction with raved about food.

With a strong team of some of the best General Managers in this space, my client is on the lookout for a General Manager to join this group to open their next venue.

Job Description

The typical General Manager responsibilities are required for this role. You will need to be a champion in the fine art of being both a hands on and hands off manager. When you are given the reins to your restaurant, you are expected to manage it as if it were your own - fully responsible and accountable for the entire operations.

Your day to day will involve you coaching and developing you team of staff, supervisors and managers to peak performance from the quiet shoulder hours through to the busy dinner services.

Not only knowledgeable, but also with previous practical application in the following areas previously as a General Manager is critical to the success of this role;

  • Complete financial management of the venue including full P&L and budgeting accountability
  • Driving revenue growth by implementing local marketing initiatives and encouraging repeat business
  • Ensure the venue is operating compliantly, safely, legally and within the operational expectations of the company.
  • Proven track record of building and leading successful teams in a highly challenging environment

The Successful Applicant

Success in this role requires current and, proven track record working as a General Manager within restaurant that regularly serve 250+ cover services, as well as a history working within a full service restaurant. Your background will reflect the requirement to manage the highs and lows of both a full service kitchen as well as a full service front of house.

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate achieving outstanding results through the development of a high performing team culture in the team around you.

Previously, high performing candidates have joined the company with the following background and skills;

  • A history of leading by example and not afraid of the early starts, late finishes and getting your hands dirty
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with the aptitude and attitude to succeed
  • Being the integral force behind building and developing a strong cohesive team across both kitchen and front of house staff
  • A solid understanding of both a fast paced full service restaurant and full service bar and the intricacies of managing both to high revenue status
  • Mentored and developed staff into senior management roles
  • Fundamental understanding for numbers across all aspects of a venue including being able to identify issues and work through staff to implement cost control measures and achieve real results
  • Exemplifying the guest experience and driving a keen focus for ongoing improvement in this area
