About Our Client

Our client is a leading parcels provider with a growing footprint and focus on technology.

Job Description

The General Manager is tasked with achieving the depot objectives in terms of achieving operational, compliance, financial, customer service and HR tasks and responsibilities. This is achieved through effective management of employees directly through the management team, maintenance of company operating standards and ISO operating procedures. Based in West London, key responsibilities will include:

  • To manage and continually review the collection and delivery operation in line with the company's policies and procedures within key measures of performance.
  • To manage Linehaul loading and unloading and any other Linehaul movements in line with company policy.
  • To manage Owner Driver Franchise contracts at depot level, raising any issues to the attention of the franchise department.
  • To manage all depot expenditure within company guidelines.
  • To manage effective and accurate communication between the depot, Central Customer Services and Customers.

The Successful Applicant

The General Manager will live within a commuting distance of West London and have experience of the following:

  • Experience of operating at a senior management level (GM or Depot Manager)
  • Direct management experience within the parcels industry is advantageous.
  • Have previously held budget responsibility.
  • A pro-active approach to managing an operation.
  • Able to adapt and respond to change.
  • Excellent communication skills.
