Job Description

As the General Manager, you will be accountable for site turnover and you will have primary accountability for the maximisation of sales and profit and the optimisation of costs, processes and efficiences to enable the delivery of your depots business targets. You will be the ambassador for the Brand, Corporate Vision, Values and and work to manage all aspects of the successful delivery of the depots in line with the agreed plan to drive Service Excellence through inspirational and motivational leadership.

Your key deliverables will be:-

  • Full accountability and KPI ownership of all critical numbers.
  • Responsible for delivering successful revenue and contribution targets (revenues, costs and profits)
  • Organise and manage the Sales effort including field and telesales teams.
  • Develop, refine and optimise Sales in alignment with the changing market and customer demands.
  • Lead, manage, motivate and direct the senior depot teams in a positive, professional, motivational and structured manner in line with Corporate Vision and Values.
  • Ensure appropriate planning, resourcing, development, training and on-going people plan is in place.
  • Manage and optimise key Transport management KPIs relating to delivery, legal requirements and accident prevention.
  • Manage all systems, processes, procedures and training so as to support Corporate Accident Prevention and Management objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing, stock management, and control.
  • Meet and exceed all critical H&S corporate objectives and seek to make continual improvements to core standards, processes and practices.
  • Meet and exceed all agreed Site safety, food safety, environmental and security standards for people, product, monies and intellectual property.
  • Ensure all internal & external audits are passed.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for a General Manager that will ideally be based within a commuting distance of Essex and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience operating in a General Manager capacity, ideally within a multi-temperature food environment.
  • You will demonstrate creative, commercial, results-oriented approach and be able to prioritise actions to deliver results in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong people management skills, be an effective communicator and influencer and experienced in delivering change.
  • You will have enthusiasm, energy and drive with strong organisation and planning skills, whilst being flexible to change with a continual Service Excellence focus.
  • You will be expected to travel as required which may include overnight stays.
