About Our Client

The client is a 4 Partner Accountancy Practice based in South West London located within charming premises. Offering services in a varied 50/50 split of Audit & Accounts/Tax role, with their clients being focused mainly in the Not-For-Profit & Property sectors, with the remainder being SME & Owner-Managed businesses.

Job Description

This successful Audit Manager will be/have:

  • Allocating, planning and reviewing the work of the audit team through effective management and control of the team. Having extensive knowledge of a general practice background will be essential whilst supporting and mentoring the team.
  • Co-ordinating the audit and accounts assignments, which includes direct contact with the client and building long term relationships. You will follow-up on meetings, and prepare budgets and completion of the audit files for both corporate and non-corporate entities of various turnovers
  • Ensuring files are compliant with the associated regulatory requirements and passing these on to a partner for review and completion after the testing stage has been completed
  • Responsibility for liaising with an external training organisation and arranging their quarterly visits for staff briefing meetings and allocation of cold file reviews
  • Managing a client portfolio and being the first point of contact
  • Management responsibilities involving annual internal reviews such as the appraisal of audit staff and ensuring compliance with CPD
  • Reporting directly to the partners to provide advice on audit methodology

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Experienced Audit Manager would have the following profile:

  • ACA/ACCA fully qualified
  • Technically strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards including knowledge of FRS102 and other recent developments as well as experience of UK GAAP, IFRS & SORPS
  • An ability to work on numerous client time lines, formulating and hitting budgets as well as being able to organise, manage and control their own and the audit team's workloads
  • Experience of working with charities and other not for profit organisations desirable,
  • A skilled communicator and an ability to interact on a professional level
