Job Description

The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial accounting & reporting for my clients group parent company. The Finance Manager will prepare the financial reporting requirements as well as the following:

  • Oversight of monthly closing of the books
  • Preparation of ALCO/ Board Committee reporting pack on a monthly basis.
  • The production of monthly financial highlights with commentaries to group stakeholders
  • Key contact for stakeholders/ chair pre-close meeting with Capital Planning, Business Finance, Group Finance, Product Control, ALCM
  • Preparation of monthly Group reporting submissions including submissions to Group External Reporting, Global Business Finance and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Understand the accounting consequences and related disclosure in the Group reporting environment over proposed transactions affecting the company.
  • Liaise with group tax to assist them in preparation of quarterly and year end corporation tax information.
  • Provide support and assistance on an ad hoc basis to other teams within Group Finance during the Group's external reporting process.
  • Evaluate and understand the impact of new accounting standards.
  • The production of the annual external reporting disclosures and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure that all procedures and deal walkthroughs are up to date.

The Successful Applicant


  • Good understanding of how financial institutions operate and specifically financial reporting for banks
  • Good IFRS knowledge, including IAS 32/39 financial instruments and IAS 27.
  • Understanding of the role of the Holdings in deploying capital and harvesting dividends to/from the Group.


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Similar reporting experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders/ chairing meetings
  • Financial services background is essential.
  • Graduate or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Min 5 years PQE.


  • Good written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly communicate accounting concepts.
  • Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills.
  • Be a self starter/motivated - ability to work with minimum supervision with attention to detail
  • Be able to work to challenging deadlines.
