About Our Client

The Group is a leading logistics company and has a presence in the UK, Continental Europe, Australia and the Middle East. It is public listed company an following a US acquisition it has seen a huge amount of growth and expansion - with a predominant focus on continental Europe, hence the need for a Group Management Accountant to oversee the management accounts within IFRS and the consolidation.

Job Description

  1. Preparation and ownership of KPI's including meaningful variance analysis which is able to stand up to high levels of scrutiny and challenge;
  2. Prepare group financial schedules for inclusion within the monthly group board papers;
  3. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounts in accordance with IFRS;
  4. Review and provide monthly commentary on Corporate and divisional overheads for inclusion within the group board papers;
  5. Review and maintain the group inter-company balances
  6. Review and prepare monthly management accounts for all corporate entities ensuring balance sheet integrity and variance analysis of P&L;
  7. Prepare and distribute Corporate department financial performance packs and review monthly results with department heads;
  8. Develop internal efficiency's for the production of management accounts;

Financial modelling for the Corporate entities to enable the production of quarterly forecasts/annual budgets and three year strategic plans

The Successful Applicant

  1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  2. Proven track record in management accounting.
  3. Have an understanding of IFRS multi-currency consolidation.
  4. Ability to build healthy working relationships with business stakeholders while exhibiting independence and objectivity in thought and action;
  5. Ability to multi task and work well under pressure, prioritising tasks and workload and managing conflicting demands of the business units and senior management team;
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff across the UK/Europe region, as well as key stakeholders;
  7. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  8. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan own work, work autonomously and on own initiative and meet deadlines;
  9. Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy of work;
  10. IT literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Salary is between £45,000 and £50,000 (+ additional benefits)
