Our client is a central London based Healthcare provider. They specialise in a range of services and are a large international brand that continues to grow.

Job Description

  • Involvement in the month-end process, helping to ensure that all relevant deadlines are met, comprising:
  • Preparation and ownership of the Group consolidation (UK GAAP & IFRS), ensuring completeness and accuracy and ensuring that all manual journals passed are reasonable and have sufficient backup.
  • Preparation of various deliverables for stakeholders including lender reporting and a South African listed plc.
  • Preparation of cash flow statements.
  • Preparation and processing of monthly journals for certain Group companies.
  • Liaising with the Group Tax and VAT function and processing all monthly tax journals.
  • Monitoring of Joint Venture, Joint Operation and Associate reporting.
  • Analysis of Group's borrowings and facilities.
  • Various other month end analyses and reconciliations for head office companies and corporate departments.
  • Significant involvement in the year end and half year reporting process, including:
  • Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and meeting annual deadlines for delivery of accounts to shareholders, lenders and regulators.
  • Preparation of year end and half year reporting deliverables for the various stakeholders.
  • Responding to auditor and stakeholder queries in a timely fashion.
  • Management of the quarterly forecasting process involving preparing the forecast in the format required for various stakeholders, ensuring that all relevant deadlines are met; includes ownership of forecast loans and finance costs.
  • Ownership of the Group's Treasury function, including: daily cash monitoring, responding to cash related queries, preparation of the underlying data for the cash forecast, processing of various monthly and adhoc payments, analysis and payment of interest, and general bank account maintenance.
  • Management and monitoring of the accounting around existing finance leases across the group; assessing the commercial viability of new finance leases and accounting for these.
  • Ownership, development and communication of Group policies. This will involve close liaison with the Internal Audit function to ensure policy development remains at the forefront of a strong internal control environment.
  • Involvement with group fixed asset reporting, monitoring and projects.
  • Involvement in other adhoc finance projects, including for FY16 conversion to new UK GAAP.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong academics are essential - it is key that this candidate has potential and intellect, and this is well evidenced by strong academics.
  • Will be a degree educated, ACA qualified accountant who ideally will have held a challenging role in a dynamic, well controlled, multi-site service driven organisation or will have worked for a big four or top mid-tier practice.
  • Strong accounting technical expertise (IFRS and UK GAAP required).
  • Strong complex group consolidation experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills, with knowledge of macros preferable.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, or of comparable multi-site businesses, will be an advantage but not essential.
