About Our Client

This Academic Organisation is a busy and thriving charity offering training and clinical services with a turnover of approximately £3 million.

The Organisation has recently undergone a QAA review and achieved the highest judgement as follows:

The Academic Quality Manager provides high-profile operational support to the CEO, Academic Board and its sub-committees and Faculty Heads.

Job Description

To manage compliance with relevant legislation, as well as with the provisions of the QAA Quality Code (or its equivalent) and PSRB directives, providing advice and guidance to academic and administrative staff as appropriate.

To manage relationship with statutory bodies including HEFCE, HESA, the OIA and the QAA, as well as with validating partners and accrediting professional bodies, maintaining effective communications, ensuring contractual compliance and minimising the academic risk to the Institute associated with quality assurance systems and external academic partnerships.

To project manage Institute's application for Degree Awarding Powers.

To project manage institutional review events, validation and professional accreditation events and periodic programme reviews.

To manage the specific course designation process and Institute's Assessment Boards as well as providing advice and guidance to academic and administrative staff regarding academic regulations and the handling of student extenuation, appeals, complaints and misconduct.

To manage policy framework, including writing academic regulations and related policies and procedures, advising other authors and ensuring consistency throughout.

To manage CRM, project managing ongoing development, running complex reports, scheduling training and providing advice and guidance to academic and administrative staff in its operation.

To manage data, overseeing the audit of student registration and academic records processes to ensure they are consistent, accurate and synchronised with that of validating partners.

To manage student feedback processes, designing collection mechanisms and reporting on student satisfaction and achievement data at institutional, programme and modular level.

To oversee public information including the website, programme specifications, programme handbooks and other institutional documentation.

To line manage the Quality & Data Coordinator and Digital Coordinator.

To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be expected, commensurate with the level of the post.

The Successful Applicant

The Institute is looking for an individual who can provide effective and dynamic leadership in the areas of quality assurance, compliance and risk management; while engaging with staff in planning and developing key academic management and quality assurance processes that will enable the Institute to apply for Degree Awarding Powers and in time University title.

The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach, be independent thinker and proactive, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. An effective communicator that is able to negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the institute.
