Job Description

Job Purpose for the Head of Business Development - International Trade Finance in London:

  • Overall responsibility for the development and delivery of strategy for the growth of International Multinationals, Corporates and Non - Corporates doing business into SSA.






Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and deliver the overall Strategy and business plans implement the business plan and monitor progress towards its achievement.
  • Originate new business within the agreed target market and customer base
  • As Co-Head of Business Development provide oversight and direction to the overall strategy of bank's customer business working closely with the Co-Head Business Development - Africa
  • Identify and disseminate information and alert management to trends and risks and to opportunities to maximise earnings.
  • Provide operational and service delivery to achieve the prescribed levels of customer satisfaction
  • Meet agreed financial targets and non-financial objectives and targets.
  • Identify emerging market countries and tap lucrative business transactions to expand the Bank's portfolio and enhance revenue generation within agreed risk appetite.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity ensuring that opportunities for new business are identified and the business meets agreed controlled market share growth.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an effective marketing strategy in order to maintain and increase market share, as well as generate profitable business opportunities.
  • Maintain the business portfolio risk profile within agreed parameters at all times.
  • Recommend, support, or approve credit proposals.

The Successful Applicant

Essential Criteria of the Head of Business Development - International Trade Finance in London:

  1. Proven track record of Customer Development and Growth
  2. Demonstrable track record of deal origination and revenue generation with the agreed target market
  3. Proven revenue generation track record
  4. Proven Organisational, Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
  5. Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  6. Excellent negotiation skills.
  7. An in-depth knowledge of onshore and offshore banking, trade finance, treasury, syndications and other cross functional products.
  8. Proven marketing skills.
  9. Understanding of complex financial structures.
  10. An excellent understanding of the general, economic, political and business environment of the regions/markets in which the bank and its customers operate.
