Our client is a leading provider of post qualifications for legal professionals; as well as offering a range of legal courses, webinars and conferences for corporate organisations. They have been going for 30 years and have provided their services to thousands of people over that time.

Job Description

The successful Head of Business Development is a people management role with responsibility for driving business growth from 3 sources

  • Existing customer base membership renewals
  • Up selling and crossing selling in to existing customer base.
  • New customer acquisition

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Generating, growing and closing leads to sustain a healthy pipeline and achieve set targets.
  • Managing an internal sales person/team to ensure they achieve their targets.
  • Presenting the company and solutions to C Level decision makers.
  • Co-ordinating internal and external stake holders to ensure all solutions/courses are delivered to standard.
  • Managing the diary and daily activity of themselves and team.
  • Managing internal CRM and Management Information to enable the business to make decisions on sales targetting/strategy and where to focus resources.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Head of Business Development will ideally come from a legal background either having sold into the legal sector before or be a solicitor/lawyer looking to step into a commercial environment.

The ideal individual must be comfortable interacting and engaging with partners from Law Firms of all sizes as well as legal teams in corporate organisations.

This is a relatively autonomous role reporting into the MD so successful candidates must be capable of planning and executing a sales strategy to drive the required growth.
