About Our Client

My client is a UK-headquartered international law firm providing a full service to clients worldwide. Well known for its technical excellence, creative thinking and single team approach. Their client base spans everything from FTSE 100 and 250 companies and multi-national corporations to financial institutions and hundreds of public sector organisations.

The Company Secretarial Team deal with a comprehensive range of company secretarial issues from company formations; company searches; drafting board minutes to boardroom best practice. The team acts for some big names including Iglo Group, Coca Cola and ADP UK Limited and works closely with other sectors of the business.

Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of the company secretarial team (comprised of 3 paralegals and a senior associate).
  • Management of a wide range of instructions and distribution of the same to the team exercising due supervision and support as necessary
  • Developing client relationships and encouraging the team to do likewise. Actively seeking opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure that good financial management is adopted by the team (namely time recording, fee scoping and updates and billing)
  • Identifying streamlining opportunities to increase efficiencies of the team
  • Consider the training requirements of the team,
  • manage the annual appraisals of the team and agree the objectives for each team member.

The Successful Applicant

  • A corporate legal understanding and solid Company Secretarial experience
  • A proven, demonstrable, track record of advising on corporate/company secretarial transactions and general corporate governance issues (familiarity with blueprint is useful but not essential)
  • Leadership skills
  • Project management skills
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining long term client relationships
  • Efficient, commercial approach to handling wide range of issues
  • Soft skills in team management and client interface
  • Experience of providing assistance to less experienced team members and assisting with training initiatives
  • Experience of getting involved or taking responsibility for marketing initiatives including delivering training and briefing notes
