Our client are a leading Housing Association in the North West responsible for a stock of over 13000 properties across Greater Manchester.

Job Description

Head Of Development - Social Housing

The purpose of the role is to successfully deliver the Development and Regeneration capital programmes of the association whilst creating and maintaining strong links with key external partners.

The successful candidate will:

- Lead the delivery of the Group's Capital programme and associated projects to agreed performance, budget and service standards.

- Explore new initiatives for development (including housing for sale and Market Rent and other non-charitable activity) reporting on the viability of these and developing models for delivery.

- Take a lead on key disposal projects on behalf of the Group and its members.

- Develop and adopt sound risk management practices for all projects. To take responsibility for the review and updating of Growth risk plan and to lead on the process assurance review.

- Work with the technical team (clerk of works, technical surveyor) in the supervision of works on site and including any issuing instructions in accordance with procedures, ensuring the quality of works meets the specification as set by legislation and HCA requirements and through consultation with Asset Management.

- Lead in identifying and developing new opportunities for regeneration and development products and services.

The Successful Applicant

Head Of Development - Social Housing

The successful candidate will have:

- Experience of working at a senior level

- Substantial experience of developing Capital regeneration projects

- Experience of working within social housing for private, public or voluntary organisations.

- Experience of successfully leading and managing a team

- Experience of leading multi-disciplinary bid teams

- Demonstrate experience of building effective partnerships and links with a range of external organisations

- Proven track record of Project Management, evaluation and monitoring

- Experience of procedure development and audit processes.

- Proven track record of successful management of organisational change, business policy and risk management

- Experience of developing non-capital regeneration projects

What's on Offer

The successful candidate reporting to the Head Office in Manchester will be offered between £65,000 - £75,000 plus benefits depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware, highly motivated individual who can work under pressure and have proven experience leading large Development teams within Property and Housing in Manchester and the surrounding areas.
