Led by their CEO the team have a particularly strong appetite for sustainable growth and modernization which brings the opportunity to join the finance team as a Head of Finance.

Job Description

We are looking for a high calibre Controller for this role, with the likely profile 'Big Four' Trained with an ACA Qualification, and subsequent experience in a technology or consultancy business in a Controller position. The individual does not need to be an established Head of Finance however, as there is significant development opportunity in this role. Key attributes and profile are:

  • Continually review, challenge, revise and then implement changes to the accounting and Management Information (MI) systems to provide maximum insight into company performance
  • Drive the finance team and systems to provide greater insight into the business thereby highlighting opportunities to increase performance; pipeline tracking, recurring growth, head count, cash commitment and utilisation, both on individual accounts and across the Group.
  • Provide accurate, relevant and timely MI to the Board and Management Team to ensure that areas of the business under their control can be properly managed.
  • To take ownership and review the Management Reporting pack of business performance data, including comparison of actual results against plan and previous year, together with commentary, revenue recognition and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ad-hoc project work: supporting commercial projects related to the continuing growth and development of the business.
  • Ownership of (consolidated) statutory and management accounts together with forecasts supported by appropriate analysis, commentary and presentation to the CFO and board
  • Systems development: review, devise and implement changes to the accounting system in conjunction with IT and software suppliers.
  • Financial modeling to support business decisions.
  • To participate in all major projects of the business, long term planning, finance system implementations, major capital expenditures and provide expert input on accounting, internal control and reporting.
  • To develop an understanding of the contractual relationship with clients in order to ensure their commitment and revenues are accurately reflected in reporting with an emphasis on flow planning and forecast versus client commitment
  • Ensure that all financial controls are in place across the company so to eliminate financial risk and loss.
  • To contribute to discussions on revenue recognition, financial performance and account / revenue type performance

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A commercially minded Finance expert with experience of working in, or working with, technology or consultancy company. Academically strong and will have a Chartered Accountancy qualification, trained in audit from a recognized firm, and at least 3 years experience working with the Technology or consultancy sectors.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of effectively leading, mentoring, and developing a successful team.
  • Strong Financial background and business acumen along with an ability to make a contribution towards the strategic development of the business.
  • Advanced in Excel, highly numerate and comfortable working with complex financial models
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills necessary to build trust and respect both externally and internally. A versatile personality with good problem solving skills and an eye for detail combined with sound numerical and presentation skills.
