Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work within a growing business and work across disciplines (accounting, actuarial, reporting, change and tax). You will be responsible for the delivery of operational excellence and lead in the timely and efficient provision of high quality financial information for decision making.

The duties and responsibilities of the Head of Finance will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead the half year and year end processes including being the key contact point for the external auditors
  • Ensure robust control environment is maintained across Finance, and provide strong oversight and review of the environment and deficiency remediation
  • Regular interactions with multiple business lines
  • Production of technical accounting advice to optimize reporting outcomes within the current regulatory framework, production of regular management information to the executive team and Board
  • Support the delivery and implementation of ongoing Phases of the project
  • Support the CFO in the delivery of relevant statutory and regulatory reporting, and balance sheet management
  • Ensure continuous process and performance improvements in order to achieve reporting excellence and efficiency
  • Effective coaching and development of team members, and create a strong people oriented culture.

The Successful Applicant

The variety of responsibilities will enable the successful candidate to develop across a range of technical, stakeholder and leadership skills. The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant with a strong technical knowledge of IFRS reporting standards, and an understanding of the regulatory requirements of the Insurance industry, in particular with reference to Solvency II Pillar 1 and Pillar 3 requirements.

It is essential to have strong financial accounting and controls experience obtained within a large multi-national organization, with hands on insurance/reinsurance IFRS experience. You will be an excellent communicator and stakeholder manager, able to communicate complex problems in simple terms, and build effective relationships with colleagues across Business Units, in order to achieve our goals.
