About Our Client

The client is an established fashion retailer who are looking for a talented individual with strong leadership skills to influence and develop the merchandising team.

Job Description

The Head of Merchandising will be responsible for the following:

  • To manage the business strategy for stock to maximise sales & meet agreed financial target
  • To manage the Merchandising Team in delivering their agreed financial & performance targets
  • To work alongside other business functions to deliver business requirements
  • To manage the business' critical path and launch dates to deliver strong availability and meet the requirements of the marketing calendar and the business
  • To manage branch merchandising support and stock file accuracy
  • To develop a strategic & operational plan to develop the Merchandising function within the business
  • To develop the Merchandising function for the long term
  • To direct and manage analysis to aid maximising sales, ensuring there is accuracy and suitability of data for range building and range store grading

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • In depth knowledge of a broad range of product industries
  • In depth knowledge of the planning & trading complexities associated with multi-channel retailing of own branded merchandise including the understanding of the efficient management of a global supply chain
  • In depth knowledge or range building analysis & the process set up to enable robust analysis & implementation
  • In depth knowledge of the processes and systems required to support the setting and monitoring of forecasts, stock plans and budgets for sales and profit
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with senior managers and manage an operational team, set targets and ensure they are met
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills to optimise trading performance
  • Able to fully utilise the relevant IT support systems, and to be fully conversant with standard business desktop applications
