Mirroring our ambition to be the best for patients, the Communications & Engagement Team aims to be the best by ensuring excellence across the broad range of its activities. This includes how we communicate with staff, media relations, digital communications and how we engage and involve our external stakeholders and patients in the work we do.

There could not be a more exciting time to be joining the team. The Communications Team will play a vital role in supporting the combined organisation to deliver consistently high quality care and services to patients across Nottinghamshire and promote the organisation as a place where staff thrive and have a career which is both fulfilling and rewarding.

The combined organisation, which we hope will be established in 2016/17, will serve the population of Nottinghamshire and with a workforce of over 20,000 staff., will be one of the largest acute Trusts in the country (and biggest outside of London).

This post will be part of the 17-strong Communications and Engagement team that will work across the 6-site organisation in the future.

Job Description

To develop a three-year digital communications strategy, which supports the delivery of the Trust's overarching communications strategy. This will set out our plans for continuous improvement of the Trust's website, intranet and social media platforms (and all other digital channels that are used for internal and external communication)

To produce complex monthly digital reports which show how the Trust is performing, to inform areas of focus and improvement. This would include analysis of digital trends.

To share best practice with wider members of the Communications Team regarding digital innovation so that the Trust stays ahead of the game in this area.

To ensure all digital channels are owned by individual members of the Communications Team and updated regularly, reflecting the priorities of the team and Trust.

To develop a proactive social media strategy that maximises our engagement with patients and staff.

To support the Communications Team with digital (including social media) requirements during major incidents/media issues.

To work with digital communications leads in other partner organisations so there is a network where learning and best practice can be shared.

To lead on relationships with external graphic design, video and photography agencies that the Trust may engage with and authorise contracts

Regular audits to review the effectiveness of design and digital materials and platforms

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven ability to build relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Experience of budget management
  • Experience of line management and leading teams
  • Experience of working with printers and external design agencies
  • Good knowledge developing and designing websites and intranets (and improving digital platforms)
  • Experience of commissioning design work
  • Experience of designing, implementing and measuring effectiveness of campaigns for a range of audiences
  • Proven experience of working in a senior design/digital role in a busy, large and complex organisation
