Job Description

  • Best Procurement Practice - ensuring all Sector Procurement activity meets our customer's specific needs whilst following best Procurement practice. This is to protect the brand and reputation, mitigate supply-related risks and secure the lowest whole-life costs.

  • Realise Savings and other Value - engage with the Sector Senior Leadership Team to identify savings and other value-adding activities (e.g. supporting self-delivery or identifying reciprocal trade) that are available to the Sector via Procurement activity. The Head of Procurement is responsible for the savings being delivered and for partnering with Sector FD to agree and track savings realisation into budget.

  • Sustainability - understanding all of the sector's procurement commitments to sustainability - including use of local suppliers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), FSC, named accreditation's, and more - and ensuring these are met or exceeded to meet the business's and customer's specific wants and needs.

  • Reporting and Transparency - providing full visibility to the Sector Senior Leadership Team of all appropriate Procurement reports of spend, savings, compliance and more as available by working closely with the Procurement Support Function at the Shared Services Centre.

  • Team Leadership - ensuring the Sector and region they are responsible for always has the right level of Procurement support; that they have a thorough understanding of the Sector bid pipeline, mobilisation, transition, business-as-usual and de-mobilisation landscape at any given time; in addition to providing management and leadership to all Procurement resources within their regional cross functional procurement team.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5 years Procurement experience
  • Minimum 3 years line management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and influencing
  • MCIPS (or equivalent)

£70,000 - £75,000 + package including 10% bonus, car/ allowance, pension and holiday
