Job Description

  • Establish and set direction and provide leadership by developing and managing the indirect procurement strategy
  • Identify, initiate, lead and develop strategic category management and projects to reduce costs, minimise and mitigate operational and commercial risk and increase value and innovation across the division and group of companies as applicable and appropriate
  • Deliver specific savings and efficiency targets with full compliance against all benefit submission and tracking processes and audit requirements
  • Manage, lead and develop direct reports, reporting staff and project teams to maximise cost specific objectives and operational efficiency as appropriate
  • Provide direction, guidance, support and development to staff in the provision of all elements of strategic and operational categories, ensuring that they are able to carry out their roles efficiently and effectively
  • Represent Procurement across the businesses, conduct Business Unit Business Partnering and engender trust and confidence with business leaders throughout the business
  • Manage risks linked to Procurement and Supply Chain by activity promoting compliance with agreed group policies, legal requirements and by engendering professional ethics
  • Define, implement, and review supply chain and vendor management systems and processes to consistently improve defined performance delivery criteria in conjunction with business stakeholders - including supplier consolidation where appropriate
  • Develop and promote sustainable procurement practices by ensuring that environmental, energy management and sustainability measures are adopted and embedded wherever possible
  • Strategic planning and continuous development and improvement
  • Contract drafting and assessment with a special focus on commercially sound agreements.
  • Tender preparation and analysis
  • Functional process and procedure optimisation (e.g. e-procurement solutions)
  • Acquisition integration from a P&SC functional perspective
  • Business continuity, supply chain and vendor integrity
  • Supplier consolidation, vendor and supply chain management and development in line with Divisional Strategy
  • Support acquisition integration from a functional perspective

The Successful Applicant

  • Senior level Procurement and supply chain experience across a range of complex environments
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the supply markets and relative competition requiring a detailed understanding of the vendors capabilities to meet the companies requirements for both goods and services in indirect spend - for example Cleaning, Catering, Waste, PPE/Workwear, Facilities Services, IT & Professional services
  • Management of large, diverse and complex indirect categories
  • Complex framework agreement managing supplier cost and performance
  • Understanding of sector drivers to develop products, negotiate with suppliers and ensure results
  • Extensive network ensuring operational agility
  • Experience of Change Management, Project Management, Process re-engineering
  • Detailed understanding and experience of working whilst factoring health & safety issues relating to large field based workforces within various customer sectors
  • Experience of world class outsourcing & operational service excellence

What's on Offer

£70,000 - £90,000 depending on experience, 30% bonus, pension, car/ allowance + PHC.
