With an annual turnover of circa £3 million our client is a leading organisation in the distribution of international mail. This is a brand new role spearheading their sales strategy and overseeing their existing team of business developers and account managers.

Job Description

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising senior management on maximising business relationships and creating an environment where outstanding customer service can flourish
  • Responsible for managing the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and developing the overall brand and market position
  • Ensure that the Sales Pipeline remains full with qualified leads and prospects
  • Develop marketing plans to support the sales targets and company objectives
  • Monitor team and individual productivity and motivate team to reach monthly goals
  • Evaluate and improve sales and account management processes
  • Schedule and lead Fortnightly 121 Sales Reviews and Monthly Sales Meetings
  • Provide coaching for existing account management team and training for new reps
  • Manage performance and salary reviews and create employee development plans
  • Report to Senior Management on monthly sales performance, pipeline metrics, key opportunities and threats
  • Ensure accurate and complete information in captured in the company CRM system
  • Develop a sales strategy to achieve organisational sales goals and revenues
  • Set individual sales targets with sales team
  • Delegate and assign customer accounts to sales team
  • Co-ordinate sales action plans for individual salespeople
  • Ensure sales team have all the necessary resources to perform properly
  • Monitor the achievement of sales objectives by the sales team
  • Liaise with other company functions to ensure achievement of sales objectives
  • Provide feedback, support and coaching to the sales team
  • Plan and direct sales team training
  • Assist with the development of sales presentations and proposals
  • Investigate lost sales and customer accounts
  • Track, collate and interpret sales figures
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, monthly sales revenue and generate timely sales reports
  • Develop pricing schedules and rates in conjunction with Senior Management Team
  • Formulate sales policies and procedures
  • Conduct market research and competitor and customer analysis
  • Attend trade meetings and industry conventions

The Successful Applicant

The Ideal candidate should have a proven track record of managing a high performing sales function within the courier, logistics or related industry sector.


  • Proven experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management
  • Proven experience in managing and directing a sales teams and clear demonstration of achieving sales targets, focusing in the B2B space.
  • Relevant product and industry knowledge ideal.
  • Experience with relevant software applications and specifically crm management
