Job Description

Supply Chain Strategy

  • Create a clear vision and purpose for the supply chain function including the culture and principles of how it works within the business and how the business works with the third party partner.


  • Operational and Commercial Account Management

    • Ownership and development of the relationship with our third party partner and the interface between the two businesses.
    • Ownership of an appropriate performance management framework that identifies operational and commercial opportunities, creating joint plans with the business and the third party partner to improve delivery quality, efficiency and availability performance whilst managing cost.
    • Identify stock management opportunities including residual stocks, short life product and inbound issues, creating joint plans with the business and third party to resolve issues and mitigate risk.
    • Ownership of supply chain projects across the business for example; integrating new business accounts successfully into the supply chain.



    Business Processes

    • Own business processes and interfaces between our business and the third party partner, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing lasting change within both organisations that optimise supply chain efficiency, reduce cost and improve availability performance.
    • Ensure that teams within both organisations are working effectively to maximise supply chain efficiency, reduce cost and improve availability performance making recommendations to organisational structures and processes where opportunities exist.





Leadership

  • Raise awareness of the impact to the supply chain of decisions made across the business through promoting the supply chain function and its purpose.



  • Inspire, coach, motivate and mentor direct reports and colleagues across the business by sharing experience and knowledge to support their development and improve supply chain performance.
  • Fully utilise appropriate performance management processes including PDRs, career progression, personal development plans and where required, the management of under-performance in a timely manner.



























The Successful Applicant

Technical



  • Strong understanding and proven experience of working in Supply Chain.

    Strong understanding of Distribution Operations.
  • Breadth of knowledge within a Food Retail Operations or other pacey FMCG operational business.
  • Detailed understanding of commercial and financial information to inform commercial decision making.
  • Ability to identify strategic and operational opportunities for improvement, creating robust plans to turn insight into action.
  • Knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
