Our client is a fast growing company with more than 50 year's experience from the gaming industry. The company's Core Business consists of investing and administering shareholdings in companies that, through partners or by themselves, offer games to end users via the internet.

Job Description

As the In House Commercial Solicitor you will focus on commercial law, contract drafting and consumer law. For example you will primarily be involved in negotiating contracts with sub-contractors, B2B customers and marketing partners, drafting and reviewing our consumer facing contracts, but you will also be exposed to the whole range of legal services that we provide to the group such as employment law, marketing law, IPR, and compliance. Needless to say, gaming law will be included when dealing with many of these fields.

As a key player in a team of lawyers you will be involved in many different business areas and work closely with the key people in the company. You will report to the Head of Legal of the Group (whom reports in to the General Counsel) and you will be based in Malta.

As a lawyer in an expanding dynamic company you will be expected to be creative and step into also other areas in order to solve issues spanning over different departments and countries. You need to be able to take ownership over wider issues than a company lawyer normally would do, and be able to interact with many different sectors in order to get the work done.

The Successful Applicant

For the In House Commercial Solicitor you will need to have a professional law degree (LL.B, LL.M or equivalent) and at least three/ four year's experience from qualified commercial legal work, either at an international law firm. Experience of IT and internet law related issues, and online gaming law, is very much appreciated but not a requirement.

Your language skills are very important and we would expect you to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, and used to communicating in international business. Proficiency also in Maltese or a Scandinavian language is preferred but not essential. Ability to travel abroad is required, mainly within Europe.
