My client is one of the World's most prestigious global firms. The firm has operations across the majority of global sectors and geographies and is instantly associated with its quality of work and outstanding workforce. This role would sit within its impressive central London / west end office.

Job Description

The role itself sits within the Expatriate Tax Group (an established and well respected team of Managers, SMs and a Director) who deal with the tax issues attributed to the 600 plus active transfers (tax equalized and non tax equalized) that it is responsible for per year.

The Team:

1) Provides counsel to Firm leadership and to individual expats (STBVs or Long-term), and ensures that their tax expertise is used to deliver the highest value to the Firm.

2) Supports Partners and Associates moving across geographies, which is a key element of the "One Firm" philosophy that the firm offers its clients and people.

3)Delivers operational excellence in terms of tax support, approach and services for participants in the Firm's Mobility programs.

4)Seamlessly collaborates with other Firm Functions in a close virtual team (e.g. with Mobility, Benefits, Payroll, Accounting and Finance, HR, Legal) as well as with sending and receiving offices and external advisors.

5)Monitors and manages the tax implications of international business travellers.

The Successful Applicant

  • An excellent academic background (A-Levels , Degree)
  • A recognized tax qualification (ACA, ATT, CTA, EA) with appropriate levels of oversight of Expatriate Taxes
  • Time spent in the management of the personal tax affairs of internationally mobile executives and related national insurance/payroll withholding issues, gained either in accounting practice or in-house in a large multinational corporation.
  • A good working knowledge of international individual income tax rules and regulations, including international social tax planning.
  • Some international compensation and benefits planning oversight, in order to structure the tax effective delivery of compensation and mobility allowances.
  • An excellent knowledge of English, and ideally capability in one or more other languages.
  • Generally, strong tax and problem solving skills.
  • An ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization and in a wide range of countries around the world.
  • A mindset to get things done within a large and complex organization that operates on a consensus basis.
  • Provide an excellent and valuable client service, whilst protecting the Firm's reputation and assets.
  • Communicate effectively with senior executives.
  • Deal with detail while maintaining an overview of macro issues / strategy.
