About Our Client

My client is an education establishment based in London and are now looking to hire a HR Manager to drive HR.

Job Description

As the HR Manager you will manage, all HR activity including operational activities. In addition you will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Managing sickness, absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance issues
  • Performance management
  • Annual Returns and statutory reporting
  • Recruitment and selection (including vetting and safeguarding checks)
  • HR Policy development/review and Employment legislation
  • Support the CEO and the Finance Director in all aspects of HR management by developing and improving HR systems
  • Maintain an awareness of basic HR knowledge in developing these systems
  • Monitor staff attendance, in line with policies and procedures, including supporting line managers in conducting absence management meetings and coaching line managers in absence procedures
  • Ensure that the Academy meets its statutory employment, equality, health and safety obligations towards its staff
  • Support recruitment and selection processes and full employment life-cycle, including placing advertisements, providing administrative support, interview arrangements and completing vetting checks, in line with safer recruitment responsibilities.
  • Responsible for the quality of all HR databases and personnel records, including inputting data, leave records and maintaining the Single Central Record
  • Provide information, training, advice and guidance to leaders and managers, advising on the HR policies and procedures
  • Prepare, issue, collect and collate performance management paperwork for teaching and support staff in conjunction with relevant managers

The Successful Applicant

As the HR Manager you will have the proven ability to develop good working relationships with Directors, line managers and staff. In addition you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Generalist HR delivery and management
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Delivery of excellent customer service
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Education sector experience
  • CIPD would be preferable
  • Advising on, and implementing change programmes
  • Writing policies, procedures, management guides and reports that are accessible as well as robust

What's on Offer

This exciting and unique opportunity is offered on a salary of £41,000 - £44,000. Please note this role has a 6:30am start and 3:00pm finish of which is non negotiable.
