Job Description

Generalist HR and Business Partnering

  • Build strong partnerships with HR Director, Europe and Africa, HR and Development Manager, Europe and Africa and Global specialists to effectively leverage knowledge, expertise and systems to broker and deliver HR solutions that add value to the business.



  • Work with designated stakeholders to create and implement relevant people initiatives. Stakeholders will cover multiple departments, service lines and country hubs as determined by the business. These are subject to change at the consideration of the HR Director, Europe and Africa.



  • Work closely with the HR Director, HR and Development Manager and wider Europe and Africa HR team to ensure a streamlined service is delivered that is suited to the practical needs of the business.



  • Act as case manager for employee relations issues, escalating where necessary to the HR Director.



  • Provide guidance to and coach managers on a range of people issues.



  • Support the business to implement business change initiatives in their areas, including redundancies, restructures and change of terms and conditions where appropriate.



  • Provide support and/or manage contractual and employment issues in European and African offices.



  • Ensure delivery of the HR calendar i.e. performance management cycle, salary and bonus review.



  • Work with the HR Director, Europe and Africa and nominated stakeholders to understand business strategy and requirements to support in delivery of HR priorities including ad hoc projects.





 Perform other duties, including project work, as requested by the HR Director, Europe and Africa.



Operational HR

 Accountable for all HR Operations processes ensuring a great customer experience by delivering an efficient and accurate service



 Identify practical solutions in reviewing and recommending process and policy improvements, ensuring business requirements are met as well as HR best practice.



 Work closely with specialist teams, including payroll, to ensure processes are streamlined.



 Oversee all employment processes managed within the team i.e. employment screening, immigration, file maintenance, letter production.



Project Management

 Take responsibility for the administration and implementation of the annual HR project plan, updating alongside the HR Director, Europe and Africa in-line with business and departmental requirements

HR Team Support

 Provide direction and leadership to the HR Operations Team and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and continual development.

 Provide guidance and support to HR Operations Team in managing parental queries, flexible working and employee relations cases.

 Ensure team delivery of quality HR administration support to the business.

The Successful Applicant

Essential

  • Proven experience of operating successfully in a generalist role in a fast-moving, professional and commercial environment.
  • Strong employee relations experience with the ability to offer commercial solutions.
  • Proven experience of managing a broad range of operational HR issues including employee relations and international moves.
  • Good knowledge and application of UK employment law, regulations and compliance.
  • Proven experience of managing people and exposure to an HR shared service environment.
  • Experience of coaching managers on the full range of generalist HR areas, including performance management, remuneration and organisational change.
  • Evidence of tracking and improving service performance in a face-paced customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to map process, identify transformation opportunities and deliver change.
  • Previous experience partnering stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience using HR Information Systems.







Preferred

  • Experience of working in professional services / consulting organisation(s).



  • Experience of working in a matrix structure.



  • Experience of working within an international environment.



  • Knowledge of European and/or African employment law.



  • Previous project management experience and qualification.



  • Previous experience in policy writing and development.
