My client is a leading and growing wholesale business based in London

Job Description

The HR Manager will have responsibility for:

  • Recruitment including developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting and assisting the department managers with interviews and candidate selection
  • Issuing job offer letters and employee contracts ensuring that these remain updated for legislation chances
  • Advising on pay and other remuneration issues
  • Planning and delivering training including inductions for new staff
  • Reviewing the performance management and appraisal process
  • Developing policies and procedures for all employee relations issues and handling these as required
  • Working closely with the various departments, advising on areas such as staff performance
  • Maintaining employee issues
  • Managing the HR department on a standalone basis
  • Part-time/flexible working also considered

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role you will ideally:

  • Possess HR experience within the wholesale/retail industry
  • Strong generalist background with the ability to manage a HR department independently
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge
  • Strong communication and rapport building
  • Senior HR professional with a positive attitude and experience managing complex HR issues
  • Decisive and self-confident
  • Team player with the ability and confidence to work independently
