Job Description

They are looking for an Assistant Buyer to assist the Procurement department in managing all aspects of the Procurement function.

  • They are looking for someone to raise purchase orders supplied by business owners
  • Manage non shipping supplies and ensure purchase orders all dealt with in a timely manner
  • Working with Stores to manage general supplies and receipting of goods effectively
  • Liaising with Business owners, Accounting and Legal to organise new vendors to be set up in Oracle and ensuring current master data is up to date
  • Point of contact for all suppliers and liaising with Accounts via invoice on hold database and weekly calls to expedite all invoicing queries in a timely manner
  • Reconciling delivery notes to Invoices, in particular the monthly estimated purchase orders for warehouse supplies
  • Assisting the Procurement Manager with managing shipping supplies stock
  • Liaising with Stores to ensure that the Cycle Counts are correct and timely
  • Obtaining quotations
  • Being an enthusiastic and encouraging team member

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will

  • Be compute literate with Microsoft packages (including Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint) previous use of Oracle would be an advantage
  • Have previous experience within a Procurement function (or similar)
  • Have previous supplier relationship management experience
  • Aptitude for problem solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills both internal and external
  • Be reliable
  • Have a flexible attitude
  • Able to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Able to take ownership of a task including decision making

What's on Offer

£11.21 per hour, 40 hours per week plus possible overtime
