Job Description

The Interim Finance Integration Manager will be accountable for activities relating to the successful integration of new businesses into the statutory and group financial reporting framework and the finance implications of integration decisions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of the strategic integration plan activities;
  • Build good relationships with the integration finance lead teams and key finance stakeholders;
  • Participate in pre-deal integration discussions with the integration teams, corporate and business development contacts;
  • Provide training to the key stakeholders in the reporting requirements and systems relevant to Group reporting and integration related activity;
  • Provide guidance, support an d review for acquisition accounting entries and preparation of the Opening Balance Sheet (OBS) tracker;
  • Assist in the preparation for the cut-over on the systems statutory entity(ies) G/L, balance sheet reporting and management reporting;
  • Provide guidance on the management and product hierarchies and coordinate the approval of the proposals for setting up in the Group consolidation system;
  • Ensure the integrity of the G/L common code chart of accounts mapping is achieved;
  • Ensure key stakeholders are engaged and kept informed of progress until full cut-over of activities is completed (ie stabilised daily operational activities);
  • Consult with Trading partners, GMS, EATA and Group Tax to assess implications and agree the appropriate actions to undertake during transition;
  • Provide accounting advice on the treatment of integration spend ensuring compliance with the Group policy and costs are accurately reported including the formal review for bonus relief calculations;
  • Promote governance over finance integration activities, escalating significant issues and risks with key stakeholders and attend finance governance meetings as a key stakeholder;
  • Assist in the review and validation of the reported results during the integration period and follow up to ensure outstanding actions are resolved;
  • Assist in the coordination of the integration planning and forecast exercises, proposing an appropriate process and briefing materials;
  • Support the Director, Global Alliances and Integrations in the ongoing development and refinement of the integration framework to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Continuously review and update training materials ensuring appropriate change management

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance or other related degree discipline
  • Qualified member of recognised professional finance body (e.g. ICAEW / CIMA / ACCA) with +5 years of experience (PQE levels illustrative only to act as guide for potential candidates)
  • Experience of Group consolidation and reporting essential
  • Extensive knowledge of financial processes and consolidation systems at the divisional level and at the group level
  • Experience of using Group consolidation reporting systems
  • Strong technical reporting skills with good knowledge of IFRSs as they apply
  • Good communicator and good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Highly computer literate
  • Organised, ability to prioritise, deliver under pressure
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and develop credibility with customers in order to challenge and influence;
  • Proactive self starter able to work on own initiative;
  • Ability to create solutions to problems and challenges;
  • An enthusiastic team player with a flexible manner;
  • Ability to work in an environment that is changing and uncertain.
