The client is an established Membership Body based in London.

Job Description

The Financial Controller will contribute to the achievement of the organisation's business plan objectives and the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller with be responsible for all staff in the Management Accounts team, Working Capital Team, Financial planning and Analysis team and the Financial Systems team.

The Main responsibilities include:

  • To oversee the daily activities of the Finance team, including all outputs of the management accounts, financial planning and analysis and working capital functions and the financial systems' team
  • To ensure that appropriate financial records, procedures and processes are maintained, including all new income streams developed
  • To oversee the production of the monthly management accounts.
  • To oversee the production of budgets including the 3 year plan, cash flow and balance sheet budgets.
  • To oversee the planning, interim and year end audit processes by ensuring that deliverables are actioned by the dates specified by the external auditors and that any queries are promptly resolved.
  • To manage the production of the consolidated statutory accounts.
  • To manage VAT affairs, including continuous monitoring of the VAT partial input recovery rates
  • To assist the Director of Finance with producing high quality monthly financial reports for presentation to Executive.
  • To manage the working capital requirements of the organisation and its subsidiaries.
  • To manage the performance of the financial systems, the working capital, financial planning and analysis and management accounts teams to ensure that individual and team's KPIs and objectives are being met.

The Successful Applicant


  • Qualified ACA with at least 5 years PQE
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including the current accounting standards for companies
  • Statutory and management accounts production
  • Strong line management skills
  • Working capital and treasury management


  • Working knowledge of Charity SORP
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX and CRM

The client is offering a temporary rate equivalent of £70,000.
