Job Description

Working directly with the Conservation Operations in a business partner context:

  1. Support the International Financial Controller, Head of Finance and Finance Director in developing finance strategy, policies and procedures that support ZSL's global strategy.
  2. Support Conservation Operations, the CP senior management teams and country managers to develop plans for the roll out of accounting systems, policies and procedures that align with the overall finance strategy for ZSL.
  3. Identify and develop effective international financial processes to ensure accurate and timely information is received from the international programmes for consolidation into overall ZSL accounts and management reporting. Working with CP Operations to ensure that these processes are maintained effectively.

  4. Working with the International team to project manage the year-end processes for country programmes and regions, ensuring Country Offices meet the global annual financial reporting and external audit deadlines.

The Successful Applicant

  • The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) who has executed a similar role.
  • Have experience as an Accountant working with EU, DFID or similar major international donors/funding
  • Have solid understanding of all financial controls and audit.
  • Experience of Sun Accounts and Vision an advantage.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Excel is essential as is the ability to use pivot tables.
  • The ability to present complex financial matters in an easy to understand way.
