Our client is a leading Leisure Facility based in Greater Manchester. Their mission is to be the number 1 visitor attraction in the North.

Job Description

The ideal Interim Marketing and Product Manager will be expected to:

  • To define the product strategy for each of the products in the portfolio.
  • To use research and insights to define, develop and drive the strategic direction and to help develop new initiatives to drive the business forward.
  • To conduct analysis of leisure trends to identify shifting behaviours and gaps.
  • To put the guest at the centre of product decisions; conduct guest research including questionnaires and focus groups to explore the needs of the guest and the potential of new product development initiatives.
  • To develop internal workshops to aid the development of core products and NPD ideas.
  • To determine the development of the task force structure and actively manage cross functional task forces to effectively support existing product and NPD initiatives.
  • To work with the finance team to make pricing and forecasting recommendations about products, and develop robust business cases for new product development initiatives.
  • To work with the scheduling team and the business analyst to ensure effective introduction of new products into the schedule of existing products in order to maximize yield.
  • To liaise with and project manage key stakeholders across the business to design robust plans and implement agreed product initiatives.
  • To oversee the business and ROI analysis to ensure that products are competitive and contributing positively to the overall business.
  • To audit product messaging and positioning across each guest touch point, and direct any improvements required.
  • To lead the strategic planning and prioritization processes and manage the capex plan for NPD.
  • To work with senior management to create brand new product initiatives and implement robust processes for implementation.
  • To continually influence the positioning of products through the marketing communications programme.
  • To ensure marketing communications support product positioning.
  • To analyse performance of new products.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Interim Marketing and Product Manager:

  • An experienced Product Manager with strong previous experience at this level.
  • A degree qualification.
  • Previous Leisure industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience of developing and writing product strategies and plans.
  • Experience of market research.
  • A creative thinker.
  • A strong group facilitator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication is required together with exemplary interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment.
