Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Strategic responsibilities and alignment to business goals

  • Support the HSM in identifying growth opportunities by region, market segment and customer type across the international regions
  • Set product strategies and create marketing plans for digital archives within the Primary Sources programme
  • Support the HSM in increasing the value of the brand internationally; help to establish the position or reposition of products and brand; extend the company's brand into emerging markets including China and the Middle East; and change customers' perceptions of products and the brand
  • Ensure end-to-end marketing for key products internationally including value proposition and message development, planning and execution, working with regional marketing leads on localisation and adaptation where required
  • Develop a plan for reviewing and monitoring current market conditions and competitor activity across the international regions and adjust marketing strategies accordingly

Tactical responsibilities

  • Devise and implement thought leadership events and faculty and library roadshows in the international regions to help drive brand and product awareness among potential customers and end-users
  • Translate the international marketing strategy and objectives into cohesive marketing plans addressing key subject areas, across regions, sales channels and related technologies - helping to meet annual revenue and EBITDA targets

  • Track product development and marketing initiatives in the US with a view to repurposing them for the international markets where applicable

  • Support sales in field visits especially targeting the less developed parts of the portfolio as well as sales targets

  • Work with the UK MarComms team in developing international marketing campaigns, pre- and post-sales tools (including brochures, catalogues, and power points) for international sales teams at optimum times and within budget guidelines

  • Create sales tools with relevant analytics that optimise international sales including gap analysis of library holdings, heat maps with sales information, global holdings lists and customer benchmarking at the country, regional and global level.

  • Develop post-sales tools for international customers to promote end user awareness, drive product usage and increase retention across the international regions

Key Requirements

The candidate will need to demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills.

Essential Criteria

  • Substantial experience in a Product Management or Marketing role
  • Well versed in understanding marketing strategy and translating into marketing plans
  • Good financial analysis' skills
  • Good understanding and ability to contribute usefully to product development in all its phases
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint

  • Insight: ability to see and anticipate market patterns and trends
  • Action oriented: Ability to translate insight into action
  • Goal oriented: Highly-motivated and proactive
  • Strong communication skills at all levels and in all formats
  • Balances values, risks and implications of decisions.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within sales or marketing of library or digital products
  • Experience using different marketing software such as InDesign
