Job Description

The Principal Accountabilities of the Systems Accountant willl include:

1.Lead the implementation of the new Finance System representing the interests and project vision of the Executive Director for Finance. Work closely with the allocated Digital Project Manager, Finance Team, Digital Team, budget holders and external consultants as required to ensure project success.

2.Design and implement process improvements to data-flow, integrity and reporting to maintain data integrity and quality within agreed design principles.

3.Analyse and document financial control processes to enable integration and consolidation across key systems where possible.

4. Support the project manager with managing the finance system supplier and monitoring the delivery of agreed milestones.

5. Support and work within the agreed project management methodology for this complex project.

6. Manage relevant areas of the project plan, timetable, resources, costs and activities including managing relationships with stakeholders as required to meet project objectives.

7.Be jointly responsible with the Project Manager for the creation and execution of an effective stakeholder communications plan to ensure an appropriate balance of informing colleagues and providing assurance to those providing oversight

8. To arrange and lead meetings, workshops, presentations and site visits with the key users and external parties to ensure that good practice in new system is adopted by users.

9.Ensure that business requirements are appropriately analysed, and appropriate solutions devised to meet them.

10.Ensure that specifications, user guides, training manuals, procedures, and other relevant documents relating to the new system, are prepared, published, and maintained including taking responsibility for production if required.

11.Arrange appropriate training for users on the new system. This may be done by external trainers, software providers, or in-house resources.

12. Work closely with the Digital team to ensure that an appropriate infrastructure and support mechanisms are in place to support the new systems.

13. Be responsible for effectively managing strategic and operational risks within your area of responsibility. The Group has developed a robust and active approach to risk management, where all managers are accountable for successful implementation, including mainstreaming effective mitigation and control measures, briefing team members on service area risks and maintaining risk registers in accordance with agreed reporting frameworks.

14.Demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities by valuing diversity in all areas of work.

15.Take responsibility for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the Group's Health and Safety Policy.

16. Undertake any other duties in order to meet personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager.

The Successful Applicant

Must be a qualified accountant with detailed experience around systems implementation and upgrades.
