Job Description

Core activities:-

 Carrying out audit engagements in accordance with the Charter and strategic plan.

 Ensuring compliance with the internal audit methodology at all times.

 Determining and agreeing the objectives and scope in conjunction with the Audit Manager.

 Conducting risk assessments for engagements and reviewing the suitability of internal control design.

 Establishing systems and risk-based audit programs.

 Liaising with stakeholders.

 Designing and conducting audit testing of the specified area and identifying reportable issues and

dimension of risk.

 Determining compliance with policies and procedures.

 Assessing suitability of control design and recommending improvements.

 Conducting meetings with managers to communicate findings and to negotiate apposite and proportional

recommendations and responses.

 Issuing comprehensive and complete audit reports which add value to the business.

 Conducting peer reviews and quality activities.

 Carrying out follow up audits to confirm implementation of previous internal audit recommendations.

 Conducting financial and operational due diligence on new business proposals.

 Co-ordinating the integration of administration systems for newly acquired businesses.

The Successful Applicant

 PIIA/CMIIA qualified or ACCA within mid tier accountancy practice IA Department (Mazaars, Baker

Tilly, BDO etc.).

 Internal audit specialist (3 + years), focused on risk and assurance.

 Experienced in planning and delivering audits of: - core financial systems audits - risks & controls -

general business risks - preferably in a multi outlet environment - business projects.

 Expertise in Microsoft office products.

 Driving licence - full and clean.

 Knowledge of modern internal audit methods and techniques.

 Strong analytical, investigative and problem solving abilities.

 Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

 Professional and credible presentation.

 Commercially aware.

 Self motivated, flexible and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

 Highly organised and able to work within pre agreed deadlines for engagement delivery.

 Flexibility to travel and manage multiple engagements.
