Job Description

The Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and leading an audience focused internal communications strategy as part of the wider communications strategy. The key objective will be to develop and manage relevant platforms for communication and engagement within the organisation.

The role holder will provide strategic leadership in effective communications, providing guidance on all internal communications issues and will play a lead role in positioning the importance of excellent internal communications activity as part of the organisations strategic themes and priorities, particularly with senior colleagues.

As a consequence, the Internal Communications Manager will build key relationships, particularly with other managers and leaders across the organisation. The role holder will lead on organising relevant training, briefing and support.

The Internal Communications Manager will inspire, engage and educate our internal audiences on the organisations brand narrative, key messages and strategic direction through outstanding internal communications activity. The role holder will develop and advocate a consistent and impactful narrative around the University story, making it simple, understandable and relevant to key audience groups.

In addition, the role holder will play a key role in issues management and will support the organisations wider public/external affairs agenda.
