London based Financial Services organisation.

Job Description

The role will involve:

  • Negotiating distribution agreements, fund link agreements, platform agreements and rebate agreements with key UK distribution clients including banks, wealth management firms and platforms to cover the company's various product ranges.
  • Supporting the fund ranges including managing initiatives to launch new funds in conjunction with the business, investment teams, risk and control functions and third party service providers (e.g. depositaries and trustees).
  • Drafting, negotiating and maintaining all relevant fund documentation including, Prospectuses, Terms of Business, and agreements with third party providers, such as custodians and administrators.
  • Providing assistance on the on-going governance and strategic initiatives (including new product launches) relating to the Investment Manager's retail fund ranges.
  • Advising on the sale and marketing of the funds or products in the UK.
  • Assisting with client and adviser documentation for investment funds.
  • Provision of expert and timely legal advice, support and legal risk management in plain language on changes to legislation and regulation in UK and European level.
  • To provide proactive and innovative practical commercial advice and suggest alternative strategies and approaches where appropriate.
  • Proactively identifying and managing legal risks.
  • To provide advice and support on business/product development and innovation.
  • Effectively manage relationships with external lawyers (where required).
  • Responsible for supervision, coaching, training and development as appropriate.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate is likely to be a qualified lawyer with around 4 - 8 PQE* from a top tier law firm and ideally in-house as well (either a full time role or secondment). Experience of investment management matters and associated legal work is essential for this role. Candidates should be able to work fairly autonomously as part of a wider legal team.
