Their legal teams guide, support, defend and protect clients in relation to a wide range of key legal services, including: - Trading terms and relationships - Employment and work-related advice to Businesses & Organisations - Resolution of disputes relating to any of the above - Allegations of Professional Misconduct - Regulatory Compliance - Accusations of fraud - Criminal Defence.

Job Description

Duties and accountabilities

  • To have day to day conduct of cases for the firm's Intellectual Property and IT clients
  • To contribute to the firm's website, marketing and elXtr initiatives
  • Accountable for the processing of the work, time recording, pricing (in consultation with the Head of the Division), billing and cash collection
  • Provide data as requested for preparation of management information
  • Deliver a service to clients and work with colleagues within the Group in a manner that meets core values and strategic objectives
  • Liaise with front of house Client Relationship Team to provide quotes, new enquiries and update as to progress of files.
  • Working with colleagues within the Group to develop suitable products and to develop markets and to attract a wider client base
  • Some travel within the UK may be required from time to time, particularly to other offices in Manchester and London

The Successful Applicant

Technical skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Be a qualified Solicitor of not less than 5 years PQE (although less will be considered with proof of relevant experience).
  • Have up to date knowledge of Intellectual Property law and Information Technology.
  • Have experience and skill in provision of non-contentious commercial services, including drafting of relevant agreements.
  • Have experience in advising on the contentious aspects of IP and IT law.
  • Have experience in dealing with the quality and quantity of work expected
  • Be IT literate and experienced in operating a case management system
  • Have experience in marketing services to clients and introducers
  • Strong social media skills and/or a willingness to develop them with support from wider business development and marketing functions.

  • Experience in producing training materials and making presentations/public speaking.
