Job Description

As a Key Account Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Creating with your internal counterpart a detailed quarterly plan that will deliver the growth and protect activity required to drive portfolio customers revenue and profit into growth. The plan should include business plans against agreed focus accounts requiring a strategic approach against multiple contacts.
  • Identifying and targeting revenue potential within your portfolio
  • Building a detailed understanding of the customers, markets and competitors
  • Driving e-commerce share up within portfolio
  • Creating brilliant end user experiences making RS the supplier of choice for everyday urgent orders, project orders, storeroom stock orders and where appropriate production item orders
  • Implementing any added value services such as Storemanager, Purchase Manager and Trade Counter solutions

The Successful Applicant

As a Key Account Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Strong customer facing experience and understanding of their needs and requirements
  • Some experience in Value or consultative-based field sales, handling customer accounts
  • Excellent sales skills, being action orientated and able to close not just on orders but contacts commitment to actions that move business forward
  • Ability to plan and implement a long term commercial agreements
  • Exposure to compiling and analysis sales figures and undertaking market researches
  • Experience producing sales reporting to senior management
  • Experience in market intelligence keeping up to date about products, market trends and competitors
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good leadership and emotional intelligence skills
  • Capability in portfolio planning and time prioritisation
  • Works well under pressure, whist creating quality output
  • A high degree of learning agility, humility and willingness to share successes
  • An appetite to learn and grow within the role
  • A proven track record in delivering profitable sales growth
  • Good understanding of the MRO industry
  • University Degree or equivalent
  • UK Driver License



Desirable:

  • An appreciation for the product commodities we distribute (ie. Process Control and Automation, Electrical and Test and Measurement, Electronics, Tools and Consumables,
  • A knowledge of specific sector customers and/or competitors, (Manufacturing, Food & Beverage Production, Government, Aerospace, Defence, Transport, Utilities and FM)

What's on Offer

The successful candidate can expect a basic salary of up to £45,000 + Bonus
