Job Description

The Land Manager role based close to Oxford will have the following responsibilities within the role:

Maintaining and developing a sound contact base of the best contacts and agents

Processing of secured land to planning permission

Preparing land purchase reports for Board approval

Carrying out initial site visits with the Land Director and assisting in the co-ordination of internal departments to obtain budgets and surveys to enable the efficient processing of land opportunities

Assisting with the co-ordinating the submission of planning applications with consultant team

Maintaining Security and Health & Safety requirements as appropriate on newly acquired sites up to the land/technical handover

Preparing land/technical handover packs for acquired sites with planning permission so they can be handed over to the production team

Maintaining up-to-date information in land files and keeping minutes of key meetings

Attending planning meetings and public consultation events during the initial pre-planning phase

Assisting the Land Director in the coordination of architects when working up planning applications and schemes for site appraisal and preparing development briefs

Internal liaison with Commercial & Build departments in obtaining budgets to assist in acquisition appraisals and briefing departments on up-coming acquisitions and requirements

Preparing acquisition packs for Board Approval

Maintaining and collating pre-acquisition legal packs

Maintaining and collating new land leads for discussion at land meetings and assisting the Land Director in responding to new opportunities

The Successful Applicant

As a Land Manager working within the Building and Construction industry you will ideally have experience working on projects over 250 units in size. Our client is looking for candidates who can hit the ground running and provided excellent support to the Land Director.

You will ideally meet the following criteria:

Ideally trained to degree level with a house building background

An eye for detail with an aptitude for problem solving

Organised with the ability to keep accurate records of detailed information

Ideally at least 5 years' experience in a technical role with a house builder / developer

Able to effectively manage a team of external consultants and achieve key deadlines

Full UK driving licence
