About Our Client

Our client, a large manufacturing organisation require a 3rd Line Engineer Team Leader to manage 6 Engineers based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Salary up £45,000 and dependent on experience.

Job Description

As the Lead Technical Engineer you have significant line and process management experience required by ever growing and highly successful manufacturing organisation. The main purpose of the role is to manage the technical Infrastructure team (including Network Services) to provide services/delivery to an agreed SLA (Service Level Agreement) and (as appropriate) agreed project milestones.

You will be responsible for server builds, proactive and reactive support of the server estate, infrastructure and communications systems, this role is to mentor and guide the other members and to ensure the workloads and incident queues as properly managed within the team.

This is a 24/7 multi-site manufacturing environment which demands the highest level of up-time and agility, so the ability to work under pressure and to ever changing priorities is essential for this fast paced position. Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager, you will also have the opportunity to evaluate new and improved technologies and processes to really drive business growth effectively.

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills:

Ideally accredited with ITIL v3, MCSE or CCNA although experienced candidates will also be be considered with the following technologies or skills:

  • Windows server 2003, 2008R2 and 2012
  • VMware ESX 5.5, vSphere, vMotion
  • Active Directory including DHCP, DNS, WINS
  • Exchange 2007 and 2013
  • System Centre (SCCM, SCOM)
  • Distributed File Services (DFS)
  • SQL server 2012
  • HP Servers and SAN
  • Hardware builds and server components
  • LAN/WAN maintenance
  • Cabling and network patching
  • Backups and Restores using Netbackup
  • Managing DR and BCP plans and technology
  • Testing - functional and performance
  • Good working knowledge and use of remote technologies such as RDP.
  • Consolidation and migration from physical to virtual Servers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • ITIL processes and desire to follow processes with little formal control
  • Attention to detail and meticulous planning
  • Ability to manage incidents through to resolution

What's on Offer

Salary up to £45,000 and dependent on experience which includes a 10% Bonus
