About Our Client

My client are a market leading Financial Services Organisation.

Job Description

The role is brand new and you will be responsible for setting up a Learning and Development function completely from scratch and so as you can imagine the day to day responsibilities will be very much outlined by your strategic direction. As an overview you will need to:

  • Conduct full initial training needs analysis in order to determine the most fit for purpose and cost effective strategic L&D plan for the business.
  • Conduct on going TNA to determine any gaps in training needs.
  • Assist with the design of training materials to ensure they are fit for purpose and deliver these to the wider business.
  • Create a training calendar.
  • Assist with inductions for new employees.
  • Manage the Welsh Government funding applications as an when required.
  • Develop a brand new graduate and apprenticeship scheme that will attract the best new talent on the market.
  • Devise and implement an evaluation system to determine the effectiveness of training.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met from a training perspective.
  • Monitor the progress of computer based training to ensure completion within required timescales.
  • Ensure training records are up to date and maintained.
  • Produce MI reports as required and be comfortable presenting these to senior leaders.
  • Be proactive in terms of recognising and recommending updates to policies and procedures.
  • Work as part of the wider HR team.
  • Develop an in depth understanding of policies and procedures and produce training solutions in line with these.
  • Understand the wider HR strategy and devise the L&D strategy in line with this.
  • Control costs in line with agreed budgets.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Learning and Development Manager will:

  • Have a successful track record designing and delivering L&D solutions in highly regulated environments.
  • Have successfully set up an L&D function from scratch in the past.
  • Be comfortable operating on a standalone basis but as part of a wider HR team.
  • Be CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Have previous experience managing your own function.
  • Have excellent written and communication skills.
  • Have experience influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Have previously designed and delivered L&D strategy.

What's on Offer

£50,000 to £60,000 + £5,500 bonus.
