About Our Client

My client is a global, leading retail organisation based in London and now looking to hire a LMS Specialist to join the team.

Job Description

As the LMS Manager you will own the technical infrastructure for the Learning Academy, ensuring that the LMS meets the needs of the business, the learner journey is simple and intuitive, and the business benefit from the systems investment is maximised. In addition you will hold the following responsibility:

  • Developing strategies and implementing plans in relation to the learner journey, ensuring it's simple for learners to navigate, from researching appropriate interventions and resources to booking courses and completing feedback.
  • Advising on best practice learning technology formats, elearning design, and channels to support training designers with blended learning journeys, structure and design of elearning.
  • Project manage learning technology projects from inception to launch along with the Learning leads and with work stream owners, including the addition of new courses and curricula to include assuring the quality of content by testing materials and ensuring courses work properly.
  • Manage the reporting infrastructure, dashboards and analytics to enable true insight to be gained from the data that is stored and held in the LMS, ensuring that reports are automated and meet the needs of stakeholders (compliance, regulatory, etc) so that they can make informed data-based decisions.
  • Upskilling administrators and learning design and delivery teams, ensuring that their profiles enable self-service and that they are adequately skilled to carry out their roles in relation to learning technologies.
  • Creating opportunities to introduce appropriate learning technology innovations through researching ways that can increase our digital reach, maximise our learning and produce associated business cases.
  • Facilitating the social learning environment so that staff can generate their own content and learn from each other.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills with experience of project management at a senior and business-wide level. You will also provide a customer-focused consultancy with the ability to communicate ideas visually. Furthermore you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Prioritise and influence when faced with conflicting demands from multiple stakeholders.
  • Strategic perspective, keeping overall strategies and goals in mind.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in approach to achieving targets and able to prioritise in a sometimes stressful and time pressured environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and oral) with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, partner agencies and suppliers
  • Knowledge of the wider social, commercial, political and regulated environment
  • Trends for technology developments, social learning, micros learning, etc.
  • Best practice and industry trends in learning and development with a deep understanding of how to land and manage solutions in a large, complex organisation.
  • Ability to implement the full learning cycle through a Learning Management System.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience of working with planning tools and Learning Management Systems.
  • Ability to deal with a large number of requests at any one time and to work through them methodically
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to explain to a variety of stakeholders the impact of training requirements on their business area.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo in a supportive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to translate high volume, complex data into simple and meaningful language and plans.

What's on Offer

This unique opportunity is offered on a salary of £50,000 - £55,000.
