About Our Client

Our client is the largest deliverer in New Zealand of programmes for the Management in the Construction Industry. We currently have a vacancy for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor who would assist in delivering on our Quantity Surveying courses.

Job Description

The main responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering course content to students
  • Providing students with feedback and pastoral requirements to maximise learning, retention and success
  • Ensuring the development and implementation of coherent research programmes
  • Ensuring that research is published and made available through appropriate outlets
  • Critically analysing and implementing of assessment programs for students
  • Providing support for less experienced staff
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

This position will suit those who would either like full-time or part-time employment. In this position you will contribute to teaching, research and ongoing development of our programmes at undergraduate and graduate degree levels.

Ideally, applicants will have a broad background in Construction Economics/Quantity Surveying and have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Demonstrated recognition and reputation as a leader in the relevant discipline
  • Tertiary qualification in the relevant subject area/s of discipline normally at a higher level than the subjects taught
  • Relevant discipline based practice contribution (professional/industry/community)
  • A. Research independence with research outputs at a national level, including referred journals (or equivalent) and conference presentations and/or
  • B. Discipline based practice contribution (currency, service to profession/industry/community, institutional and/or external awards)
  • Demonstrated expertise and innovation in teaching and assessment
  • Proven contribution to curriculum design and development
  • Knowledge of the application and use of CostX
  • Hold a Doctorate in the relevant subject area/s of discipline
  • Experience in teaching and assessment of students
  • Proven contribution to curriculum design and development
  • Capacity to engage in research relevant to discipline
