About Our Client

Our client are an established manufacturing organisation who are part of a global group based in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Job Description

Responsible for effective and efficient activities in repairing all machinery to National Standards. These activities include Planned Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Equipment reliability as well as using the CMMS system for the maintenance department. Optimising equipment reliability through a continuous improvement plan and actively buying in to all the group values with regards to safety and training.

  • First and foremost, it is the responsibility of the incumbent to perform any and all tasks in a safe manner, keeping in mind safety on the job at all times. It is expected that the incumbent will not only practice safety on the job, but will be responsible for the safety of others working in the manufacturing floor, warehouse as well a support areas.
  • Can provide vision, goals, coaching, and priorities, ensuring that safety, quality, customer service and costs goals for the engineering and reliability function are successfully achieved.
  • Is competent in use of Lathe, milling machine and other workshop machinery or willing to learn.
  • Carries out day to day duties as required by the engineering manager and to ensure compliance.
  • Promote an environment of excellence in reliability engineering, predictive, and preventive maintenance as well as in each and every practice of the department.
  • Carry out fault diagnostics on Electrical, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered as a Maintenance Engineer you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Ideally completed an apprenticeship in an electrical or mechatronic discipline.
  • HNC/ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • You will hold 17th edition wiring regulations.
  • You will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and a methodical approach in fault finding on all types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical systems, electronic drives and controls.
  • Experience of AC and DC drives is advantageous.
  • Awareness of project work would be beneficial.
  • Team Oriented and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Must have a flexible approach to work and be a highly committed and focused individual.
